NN Symptom Tracker

Bleeding today

First day of real flow is the anchor for everything else. Spotting alone doesn't start a cycle.

Missed days don't break anything — the analysis handles gaps. Two months of mostly-complete tracking beats two weeks of perfect tracking, so the thing to protect is the habit, not the completeness.

A printable summary including the derived DRSP scoring, which is the instrument clinical guidelines ask for. Print it, or save as PDF from the print dialog.

Two CSVs: the raw file has every item as recorded; the DRSP file is the standard 24-item instrument derived from it, so a clinician can check the mapping instead of trusting it.

Everything lives on this device only and is never transmitted. Which also means nothing is backed up for you.

How the numbers work

The scale, and the "uncertain" rung

Items are rated 0–5: 0 none · 1 uncertain · 2 mild to none · 3 mild · 4 moderate · 5 intense.

1 is treated as "not scored." It records uncertainty rather than severity, so folding it into an average would drag the numbers around without meaning anything — a run of uncertain days would read as a mild week. It's still stored, still exported, and the count of uncertain marks is shown in Patterns, because uncertainty itself tends to rise premenstrually.

Items where more is better

Some items measure a good thing — self-confidence, concentration, memory, mental clarity, productivity, the five motivation items, and sleep quality. These are marked MORE = BETTER on the entry screen.

Internally they're flipped to a burden value (5 minus the rating) before anything is averaged, so a low-motivation day and a high-anxiety day both push the score in the same direction.

Windows, and the 30% rule

The premenstrual window is the 7 days before bleeding starts. The post-menstrual window is days 4–10 of the cycle, counting the first day of real flow as day 1. Those two are compared. A rise of 30% or more is the threshold widely used to call a pattern cycle-linked.

The headline comparison uses only the Quick-tier items, which are present in every entry — so switching between Quick, Standard and Full never creates a step change in the trend.

What this is not

Not a diagnosis, and not capable of making one. It organises observations so a clinician has something real to work from. A premenstrual disorder generally isn't diagnosed while on hormonal contraception that suppresses ovulation — worth raising early if that applies.
